I was watching TV last night when I accidentally stumbled upon the funniest show that I've seen in years.... Aliens in America. It has the total NON- PC humor that I LOVE. It was totally cracking me up.
The show is about a socially awkward boy named Justin, who has a mom that is obsessed with making him popular. She comes up with an idea to host a foreign exchange student to create (and hopefully start) a trend of gaining new friends. What Justin's mom didn't expect was to get a kid from Pakistan. She totally thinks he's a terrorist and she tries to send him back! And this is just how the story begins.
One of the best scenes is when Raja goes for his first day at school and the teacher announces that they "will be in the presence of a REAL Pakistani". Then she goes on to ask the other students how it feels to have someone SO different in class with them. One of the blond hair, blue eyed girls responds "I guess it makes me mad because his people blew up The World Trade Center". LOL...
The show is perfect for the times.. when everyone acts like they don't have stereotypes but obviously does. Raja is such a sweet and kind person. I think it will really open up peoples eyes while being able to laugh the absurd truth of it all. Not sure if the rest of the season will be this good, but hopefully it is!
